Free DDACTS Workshop September 12-14 in Taunton, MA
DDACTS. A tough acronym indeed. We have observed that the DDACTS feature of DataVis’ Crime Analysis module is probably the least used feature. It is a mouthful: Data Driven Approaches to Crime and Traffic Safety. DDACTS!
Back when we created the feature, it was built as a quick and automatic way to view crime and traffic incidents on a map. As with everything we build, we like 90% of the presentation work to be done within a few clicks, thus leaving the conclusions and corrective action plans to Chiefs and command staff. And with the DataVis DDACTS feature, several stages of the DDACTS Operational Guidelines are essentially done automatically including Data Collection, Data Analysis, Information Sharing, and Monitoring.
Given this valuable, yet under utilized DataVis capability, we were pleased to learn about a free DDACTS workshop planned for September 12-14th in Taunton, MA. The workshop is hosted by the Highway Safety Division along with IADLEST (talk about acronyms!… International Assoc. of Directors of Law Enforcement), and is funded by a NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) Grant.
